The Lotus Project is an initiative to transform South Africa’s child maintenance system into one that is child-centric. The current system exacerbates adversarial relationships between parents, with devastating consequences for the children. The Lotus Project advocates a solution in which the State pays custodial parents directly, and recovers the costs from non-custodial parents.

Our vision is a South Africa in which every child is both financially and emotionally supported with the very best we can provide as a society.
